Friday marked the first day of healthy eating at work!! This means NO chips and NO pop. I am a sucker for those round spicy tostito chips and rootbeer, it usually makes my stomach really sick but they taste so good at the time. I went grocery shopping a few days ago and stocked up on good food. For supper @ work I bring baby carrots, broccoli, celery and cucumber all cut up with a low fat delicious ranch dip on the side. Also, for another snack I bring a low fat tortilla shell with cheddar cheese, salsa, and rice folded up and then microwaved. I need to eat more cheese since I don't drink milk at all.
I haven't been eating much at all when I work, I usually end up sleeping from 4-8am, I really have to start eating meals, my body is starting to hate me. For example, last night at work I ate my veggies and dip then ended up falling asleep at 3:30am and woke up at 7:30am..Then I went home and slept until 2pm and then went to the gym with John and Charles just after getting up so I didn't have time to eat until 4:30pm. Not eating for long periods of time is getting to become very normal for me, and I know it's not healthy, I just find it hard to spare time for food lately.
Veggies are my new best friends :P Statistics show you can eat veggies until they come out your ears and you won't gain a pound, I guess it's mind over matter for my brain, eating bigger proportions of food doesn't always mean you're consuming more fat.
I can't wait to take Nutrition courses at UPEI, I love learning about foods that can help prevent disease and help you live a longer and more healthy lifestyle.
